Is entrepreneurship for the many people possible? Is an entrepreneur allowed to make mistakes, and what differences could widespread entrepreneurship make for society and the world at large?
In this workshop, we focus on a few inspiring entrepreneurs, and their successes and mistakes. We reflect on the abilities and characteristics that make someone a successful entrepreneur. Videos and archive material from IKEA are also used to communicate insights into social entrepreneurship.
In addition to the entrepreneurship that characterises product development and design at IKEA, a large number of social entrepreneurs around the world are supported – people working to create a better everyday life in their communities. They use enterprise as a way of tackling social and environmental challenges, to reduce poverty and boost women’s autonomy. It is about identifying strengths, working together with others, finding better working methods, and getting things done.
